Standard 1: Personal Health & Fitness
A-demonstrate competency in a variety of physical activities (games, sports, exercises) that provide conditioning for each fitness area

Teaching Philosophy:
The Clinton physical education philosophy is to develop and enhance each individual student’s self esteem, leadership, and awareness of the importance of physical fitness. The curriculum consists of lifetime activities, individual and team sports, group initiatives and problem-solving activities. I strive to present an athletic, educational and safe environment to help all students of all abilities succeed at their own skill levels, while having FUN!

Daily Routines:
All students are required to wear sneakers for class as well as pants/shorts and a shirt that will allow them to participate 100% throughout the entire period. Students are not allowed to wear dresses and/or skirts, open toed shoes /heals or any other type of clothing that would violate the school dress code.
Consequences for not being prepared for class:
1st time= documented warning #1, deduction of Hawk Habit point
2nd time=documented warning #2, deduction of Hawk Habit point
3rd time= 2 points deducted from your final grade each time you’re unprepared during the term, email/phone call home, lost of Hawk Habit point each time.
Medical Excuses:
If a student is to be excused, please send a note. In the case of a serious illness or injury, a doctor’s note is required. Grades will not be affected in this case. If a student has a particular health concern please let me know ASAP!

The Clinton Middle School Health program responds to the challenges facing youth today. It builds on the foundation established in grades K-5 and supports youth in making the crucial health choices they will face during adolescence and throughout their lives.

All students are required to have a composition notebook and folder for Health/Wellness class. They should be kept neat and in great condition as it will be graded during each semester and hopefully a great resource for years to come.
